Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Salupata("we", "us", or the "platform"). By creating an account, listing a product, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use Salupata.

2. Nature of the Service

Salupata is a listing platform that connects textile sellers and buyers in Sri Lanka. We do not process orders or payments, hold inventory, or fulfil deliveries. Our role is to help buyers discover products and contact sellers directly. Any sale, payment, delivery, or refund is arranged solely between the buyer and the seller.

3. Accounts

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it up to date.
• You may register as a buyer or, by creating a shop, as a seller. Sellers accept the additional obligations in Section 4.

4. Seller Obligations and Listing Rules

If you list products or services on Salupata, you agree that:

• Your listings are accurate, not misleading, and describe goods you are legally entitled to sell.
• You own or have the right to use all images and text you upload, and they do not infringe any third party's rights.
• You will not list prohibited, counterfeit, unsafe, or unlawful items.
• Prices, availability, and contact details are kept current.
• You are solely responsible for fulfilling any agreement you reach with a buyer.

5. User-Generated Content and Moderation

The platform allows users to submit content such as blog posts, shop and product descriptions, and reviews. You retain ownership of the content you submit, but you grant Salupata a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform.

You agree not to submit content that is:

• Unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or obscene.
• Spam, misleading, or purely promotional with no value to readers.
• Infringing on the intellectual property or privacy of others.

Submitted content may be reviewed before publication. We reserve the right to edit, reject, or remove any content, and to suspend accounts that repeatedly violate these rules, at our sole discretion.

6. Transactions and Disputes

Because transactions take place directly between buyers and sellers, Salupatais not a party to any agreement between users and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of listed items, or for a buyer's ability to pay. Any dispute arising from a transaction must be resolved between the buyer and the seller. We may, but are not obliged to, assist in resolving disputes.

7. Prohibited Conduct

• Using the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other accounts, or our systems.
• Scraping, harvesting, or collecting data about other users without consent.
• Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the platform.
• Generating artificial traffic, clicks, or engagement, including on advertisements.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe harms the platform, other users, or third parties. You may stop using the platform and request deletion of your account at any time.

9. Intellectual Property

The Salupata name, logo, and the design, software, and content we provide are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reuse them without our permission, except for content you have submitted yourself.

10. Advertising

The platform may display advertisements served by third parties, including Google. These providers may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising cookies are used.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Salupata shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform or any transaction between users.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
